Publishing

Publishing names the domain where truth-seeking survives while productivity metrics replace epistemic speech. Research institutions exist to produce reliable knowledge, but truth-seeking became expensive to defend in systems that needed fast, comparable, auditable outputs. A strong file increasingly meant publication velocity and citation performance—not because truth stopped mattering, but because numbers travel better in hiring and accreditation than claims committees cannot independently verify.
